Our Story
In 2014-2015, I asked myself a simple question: Why is food becoming so expensive? Little did I know, this curiosity would spark an almost decade-long (and ongoing) journey to revolutionize food and crop production forever.
Every action has consequences, and nowhere is this truer than in China. Unsustainable practices, urbanization, and pollution have degraded its once fertile soil, making China one of the world's largest wheat importers. By 2012, nearly half of the global wheat supply was being imported by China, driving up prices and sparking global turmoil. The ripple effects were devastating, particularly for poorer nations, where skyrocketing food costs led to riots and widespread food insecurity.
Though I began to ponder solutions, I assumed that someone else was already addressing the issue. Then I discovered vertical farming—a concept that initially blew my mind, but the conventional approaches seemed very flawed. Why invest in cutting-edge technology when advancements make such investments quickly obsolete? Why rely on staff for harvesting and maintenance, increasing the risk of sabotage-or worse, contamination (as the Bowery incident taught us)? Most strikingly, why focus mostly on lettuce, a crop humans can't survive on alone and also is cheaper to grow in soil?
Even with these thoughts, my career as a computer engineer in Sweden took priority—until a pivotal moment when I saw "something" and everything clicked. The "final piece of the puzzle" fell into place, and I knew it was time to get serious. However, the urgency of implementing my ideas only intensified with the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which disrupted 25% of the world's wheat production. The global food system needed a breakthrough, and I was determined to deliver it.
Partnering with my brother and later finding our CEO—an inspiring humanist and fellow advocate for food security—we set out to create a proof of concept. Our goal was clear: to build a machine from scratch that demonstrated the feasibility of my ideas. The results were staggering. In just 21 days, we went from seed to harvest, setting what we believe to be an unofficial world record. Our proof of concept validated everything, from growth speed to resource efficiency.

100m Tall Towers

To build our first growing tower, just five levels tall (under 10 meters or 33 feet), we need angel investment. This tower alone can generate €650,000 per harvest (every nine weeks), providing the foundation for further expansion. Our initial vision?
